Osteopathy is a form of therapy in which the practitioner uses manual methods to identify and treat mobility problems which can cause pain, discomfort and other difficulty.
Any loss of mobility can cause an imbalance in the patient’s state of health; this can effect not only joints but also nerves, ligaments and internal organs, and the effect may be felt not only at the site of the problem, but also elsewhere in the body.
Having made an initial physical examination, and discussed issues such
as lifestyle, the osteopath locates and works on the specific areas which need to be stimulated in order to aid the body in bringing about its own recovery.
Osteopathy has two aims: not only to cure, but also to prevent problems.
